VE Day 80 Celebrations

VE Day 80

The whole community at Mill Green School came together to mark the 80th anniversary of Victory in Europe (VE) Day on Thursday 8th May.

Classes prepared for the event through activities, culmuniating in an act of rememberance and celebration in the form of a Mill Green Party on the Playground. The day provided a chance for young people and staff to learn more about wartime Britain, to remember the contributions of the VE Day generation, and to celebrate peace and resilience in a meaningful way.

Victory in Europe Day, or VE Day, commemorates the formal acceptance by the Allies of Nazi Germanyโ€™s unconditional surrender on 8 May 1945, marking the end of World War II in Europe. It remains a powerful moment in history that reminds us of the courage, resilience and unity shown by those who lived through World War 2.
