Eco-Schools – Keep Britain Tidy Campaign
Over the past two weeks, our leaners have taken part in the Keep Britain Tidy 2025 campaign through โThe Great Big School Cleanโ This is part of our Eco School journey and was suggested by members of our Eco Committee. The young people have worked incredibly hard on the project, showing fantastic enthusiasm and effort when completing recycling activities and litter picking on our school grounds and the wider Parr and St Helens community.
Our learners were very eager to collaborate with other local schools and organisations in the area. We have had support from St Helens Council and their Parks & Street Care team who generously donated litter picking bags. We also had a lovely visit from the Recycling Team who brought one of their recycling trucks into school so that the students could ask questions, recycle class waste ย – they even got to sit in the driverโs cabin and honk the horn!
Local schools were also really eager to get involved with this campaign. Rainford High School, St Cuthbertโs High School and De La Salle High School allowed our students to visit their schools and help with litter picking activities. Each of the groups taking part thoroughly enjoyed the visits and it was fantastic to see students from the respective schools working together towards a common goal.
A massive thank you to everyone who supported us on this worthy campaign and we look forward further events on our Eco School journey.
