Mill Green Readathon 2025
Congratulations and well done to all the pupils who took part in our inaugural whole school Readathon. The Readathon took place the starting 19th May, with pupils being encouraged to put down their game controllers and pick up a story. The aim of the Readathon was to continue encouraging a love and interest in reading for pleasure for our students. Pupils could read whatever they liked (from novels to recipes, instructions to maps, comics and much, much more). The Readathon is organised and supported by Read for Good who supply books to schools and hospitals. The money raised by the Readathon goes towards purchasing books for childrenโs hospitals and a percentage goes towards our own school to purchase books for our students.ย ย
On Friday 23rd May, we had a dedicated morning to reading in school, with classes accessing literature in many forms. To support with this, we launched E-Platform which gives all our pupils access to thousands of accessible e-books for all ages. This can be accessed online via an app on a tablet or through a web browser. All pupils have their own login and password and can be requested at any time via Dojo for access at home. We hope more pupils will access this at home and share their reading experiences with family.ย ย
We are also extremely pleased to announce that our pupils hard-work and dedication to reading has amassed sponsorship of ยฃ255 so far. There is still time to sponsor by sending in the sponsorship cards sent home, or you can sponsor online via the link below.
Thank you for your continued support with reading at Mill Green School!ย
